Online therapy FAQ

How does online therapy for children work?

I give online sessions for children ages 7 to 12. Sessions last for 30 minutes once a week.

Here is how therapy can help your children:

  • Therapy will help prevent the feeling of social isolation as it contains parts of psychoeducation.
  • The lack of direct physical contact needs to be compensated by a warm and friendly connection to others.
  • Habits need to change and kids need to learn how to cope with the new stressful situation due to the virus and to homeschooling.
  • The important amount of time spent in front of a computer has an influence on brain activity. Children need to learn how to calm down and take care of their bodies.

Is online therapy effective for children?

The efficacy of online therapy has been discussed and proven since the 1980s, when it started to spread in Australia and Canada. The use of internet-connected tools is easy for kids. Most children are used to gaming, and since the first lockdowns, they have also become accustomed to internet schooling.

Children feel comfortable with the security of their own home, which helps them better connect and process the therapy.

The feeling of security and safety is essential to the therapy’s efficiency.

Do you offer in-person appointments?

Yes. In-person sessions are limited to two people per day.

What safety precautions are you taking in the office?

I take the following safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Receiving only two clients a day in person
  • Suspending the waiting room where viruses or bacteria could spread
  • Keeping at least a 1.5-meter distance in my practice room
  • The use of a medical mask is mandatory in the city center of Nice, where my office is located.

Do you offer group therapy?

Small supervision groups (not more than four therapists) can still take place once a month in my office.

Qi Gong and therapist training are available in small groups of four.

Do you offer retreats?

I offer one-on-one personal retreats for people wanting to go deep in their therapy process.

I also provide one-to-one supervision retreats for therapists who want to recover from burnout or integrate new directions into their therapy style.

What online courses are available?

I develop online courses for several universities in Germany. Online courses for self-regulation and self-knowledge are available at any time.
